AVID PARENT LETTER

In our efforts to reach our goal of 100% graduation at Klamath Union High School our district is implementing AVID. AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination. AVID is a global nonprofit organization that operates with one guiding principle: hold students accountable to the highest standards, provide academic and social support and they will rise to the challenge. We are implementing AVID K-14. KCC is in partnership with our AVID implementation. AVID brings research-based curriculum and strategies to students each day that develop critical thinking, literacy, and math skills across all content areas. Simply put, AVID trains educators to use proven practices in order to prepare students for success in high school, college and a career, especially students traditionally underrepresented in higher education...
