  • TITLE VII INDIAN EDUCATION : The Title VII Parent Committee meets quarterly. Please call the district office at (541) 883-4744 or check with your school's Title VII home school coordinator for the next meeting date and time. Meetings are at 6:30 p.m. and last one hour.
PRE-COLLEGE PROGRAMS

Advanced College Programs (ACP)

An Oregon Institute of Technology Partnership that encourages high school students to take college credit courses on the high school campus.

Dual Credit

Students who take the opportunity to successfully complete OIT and Klamath Community College courses at the high school or at the college can elect to receive college credit both on their high school transcript and a transcript from the college

Credit for Proficiency:

  • Students may earn credit for subjects in which they demonstrate proficiency.
  • Students can earn credit prior to, or instead of, taking a class in that subject.

Computer Assisted Learning:

  • Computer Assisted Learning
  • Students can earn credit on-line in computer assisted learning modules. 
  • Perfect for credit retrieval
  • Great for Home School students

Alternative Education Options:

  • Klamath Adult Learning Center offers programming for high school student and adults
  • Programming is individualized and culminates in credit make-up, the Basin High School Diploma, GED, ESL, or Adult Basic Education
  • Early college programs that are pre-requisites to college level courses in the Oregon Community college and University system will soon be available
  • Home school and private school families are welcome to participate in the educational options that are available both on and off campus.

CAREER PATHWAYS:

  • Career pathways lead students from interest inventories and career exploration in junior high and middle school through specific career and academic courses in high school to college certificates and degrees.
  • Pathways are designed to be academically rigorous and skills oriented.
  • Pathways lead to post-secondary training at KCC, OIT, and other colleges and technical schools.
  • Business and industry, community members, high school teachers, college faculty and district administration collaborate to design the district’s career pathways.

TITLE VII Indian Education:

The district is committed to the  development of  curriculum and to train teachers and Title VII staff to present academic and cultural skills education to Native American students and increase cultural awareness regarding the local Tribes.  In addition, Title VII paraprofessionals will be trained to facilitate language arts and mathematics remediation for Native American students in their schools as well as be trained to teach relevant and accurate culture specific to the students’ Tribal history.

The Title VII Parent Committee meets regularly on the third Tuesday of each month, except December, at the KFCS district office, Lucille O’Neill Education Center, 1336 Avalon Street, Klamath Falls.Meetings are at 5:30 and last one hour.
