Joint KFCS/KCSD Emergency Board Meeting Video
KFCS and KCSD held an emergency board meeting on Thur, Jan. 7, 2021. Below is the link to the ZOOM recording video of the meeting. Also below was the meeting's agenda.
Dear Families and Staff:
We have been getting some questions related to the start of school in January. The first day will still be Monday, January 4. We will start with K-12 students doing CDL (comprensive distance learning) the first week back on the same schedule we have been using. Then we will start in-person learning for all students in grades K-12 on Monday, 1/11. K-8 students will continue with their morning or afternoon schedule hybrid schedule as they have been assigned previously. This means each student will have either a morning or an afternoon session. Principals will get out more specific information for their schools. Mr. Swan will be sending out the schedule for KU students shortly as well.
Also it is important to note that very careful health and safety guidelines will be followed in all schools to reduce the risk of virus spread. Each school has an approved Oregon Department of Education blueprint on their website to explain the precautions they are taking. Schools have been working on these important protocals for many months. In Oregon and nationally the COVID virus has rarely spread in schools thanks to the carefully crafted and implemented precautions they follow.
Happy new year to all of you.
Paul Hillyer, KFCS Superintendent
