Two visiting chefs from Walker Quality Services are bringing new flavors and fresh ideas to Klamath Falls City Schools this week.
Director of Culinary, Chef Joseph Dominguez, and Director of Operations, Chef Ryan Bedell, traveled from Texas to work alongside our cafeteria staff, providing training on new recipes that meet Oregon Department of Education guidelines.
On Tuesday, Chef Bedell visited Mills Elementary School, while Chef Dominguez spent the day at Conger Elementary. Both sampled scratch-made burritos, which students enjoyed so much they voted to see them added to the lunch menu.
The chefs will continue their work tomorrow, with Chef Bedell serving chicken and spaghetti at Ponderosa Middle School, while Chef Dominguez brings a fresh fruit with Tajín promotion to Klamath Union High School—a flavorful way to enhance the required vegetable component in school meals.
