Klamath Union junior Hazel Squibb took first place in the high jump event Friday after she cleared 5’ 2.25.

KU junior Winnie Hsieh won the javelin event with her best throw of the afternoon being 126' 11.5. Lisette Watah finished in fourth place in the javelin at 101' 0.

Klamath Union senior Malcolm Lassett-Hankins took bronze in the high jump event with his jump of 5’ 10.5.

KU sophomore Taytum Harmon earned third place in shot put with her best throw of 30’ 7.

Harmon also ended in fourth place in the high jump event at 4' 5. Klamath Union's Maddie Smith was in fourth place in the shot put event at 30’ 6.

Wuakeen Saluskin took third place in the javelin for KU with his best throw being 160' 5.5.

In the girls' long jump, Myleah Ortiz took fourth place honors at 15' 4.75. Ortiz also took fifth place in the high jump, 4' 5.

Landon Bogatay was in fifth place in the long jump at 19' 8.5.

State Track and Field Championships

The Klamath Union girls' track and field team won the conference title this year by 99 points as the KU boys' team finished in second place.

Going to the state championships this Friday and Saturday will be 23 Klamath Union Pelican athletes, a Klamath Union record.
