Walker Quality Services’ Chef Joseph Dominguez and Chef Ryan Bedell were at hand at Klamath Union High School and Ponderosa Middle School this afternoon as Klamath Union head cook Sam Herr and her staff served over 300 students during lunch time.
The KU cafeteria staff served a rush of students in less than 15 minutes to give them enough time to eat their meal without being rushed.
Samples of chicken spaghetti was the talk of the day at Ponderosa. Whispers and echoes from Ponderosa students asking Bedell if they could have seconds, expressing they enjoyed the dish and wanting to know the recipe.
There was a fresh fruit with Tajín promotion at Klamath Union, a seasoning that enhances flavor and encourages students to meet their fruit and vegetable requirements.
“We want to have these kids to want to stay on campus,” Dominguez said. “Instead of walking off and spending money, they can eat here. We have fresh fruit, vegetables daily. Please give credit to Sam and the staff here at Klamath Union; they work really hard in serving these students.”
